Recently, the online community reported that former Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien was detained by the Department of Investigation of Corruption and Smuggling Crimes C03 under the Ministry of Public Security for violations related to the two projects Bach Mai Hospital 2 and Viet Duc Hospital 2.
In March, the Government Inspectorate concluded that Ms Kim Tien, when she was the Minister of Health, intentionally violated many steps, from approving the policy of selecting foreign consultants, to loosening management, thereby allowing many violations to occur, causing damage and waste of up to more than VND1.2 trillion ($48 million) in the two projects Bach Mai Hospital 2 and Viet Duc Hospital 2 and the case was transferred to the Ministry of Public Security.
Internal information confirmed that Kim Tien was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Public Security for many days. It seems that the fate of the former Minister of Health is more bad than good.
Health, like many other ministries, leaders draw up projects to make money and then abandon them without any responsibility to carry them out to the end. Officials from the central to local levels are all focused on the people’s pockets and the state budget, trying to embezzle as much as possible, even regardless of ethics.
Kim Tien’s successor, Nguyen Thanh Long, was imprisoned for being involved in the Viet A case – a group of power and money colluding to rob people of their money during the pandemic. Shewwas not a minister during the Covid pandemic, however, without the pandemic, she still had other ways to benefit herself.
The era of rising up is to innovate the mechanism, change the system and change the human resources, not with the type of “new socialist people” to rise up. With the same mechanism, from the same ideological furnace, anyone who becomes a minister is the same. It’s just that Kim Tien and her successor are the ones who have been investigated, there are many others who have not been exposed for their wrongdoings and are still preaching morality.
